A GoFundMe page was created in memory of 54-year-old Marisol Nunez and her 33-year-old daughter Catherine Nunez. Police found their bodies in an upstairs bedroom of the Harrington Circle home on Wednesday, Oct. 30.
Junior Edwards, 37, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder. The Lansdowne, Pennsylvania, man and Catherine Nunez had an eight-year-old son together who was at the home during the killings but unharmed.
The Nunez family said the boy will have to "begin a journey of bitter healing" due to the deadly act of domestic violence.
"This loss has left our family devastated, and it’s a reminder of how fragile life can be," the family said on the GoFundMe page. "As we navigate this difficult time, we want to honor their lives and say our goodbyes in a way that truly reflects the love and joy they brought to us."
The GoFundMe page had raised more than $29,400 from at least 372 donations as of Monday, Nov. 4.
Marisol and Catherine Nunez were pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy determined their cause of death was gunshot wounds.
Investigators said Edwards broke a first-floor window to get into the home and left before police arrived. A gun was found outside the home.
Edwards was arrested on unrelated charges in Philadelphia. He was then served warrants charging him with murder, home invasion burglary armed with a firearm, and weapons offenses.
A service was tentatively being planned for the Nunezes on Saturday, Nov. 30, according to the GoFundMe page.
